Women Who Inspire Series Presents: Joanne St. Louis
Updated: Jan 23, 2018
We live in a world where society puts in boxes that don’t have physical walls, but social barriers. A lot of us conform to the these constraints because we take the things we have for granted. A world where equality is celebrated, but never truly initiated because a lot of us are content in our passivity. However walls are made to be climbed over and ceilings are meant to be broken.
There are people who define the meaning of the word exceptional and Ms. St. Louis is one of those people. She is one of the few Haitian-American women who sets the bar high with the achievements she has bought to the table. Her accomplishments include finishing law school at a very young age, working for a charity by devoting her time to helping children who are suffering in impoverished conditions and of course instilling great values in the young women in her Haitian community.
From a very young age she was taught that with hard work and determination you can be anything you want to be no matter the odds. In fact Joanne St. Louis will probably tell you the word odds is an acronym for Open Doors Determine Success. She’ll tell you that when those doors open it’s up to you if you want to walk through them.
No charity should be without an indispensable asset such as Ms. St. Louis, her beautiful smile can only be dwarfed by her amazingly generous heart. She is the embodiment of women who does not let ideals define her. In Haitian culture, where most women are taught to be subservient, she is a woman who will smile at the notion of given and will boldly show that as a woman she can do anything a man can do if not better.
Be Good To The Children, Inc proudly loves working with Joanne St. Louis and happily will always keep her close to our hearts. Her dedication and diligent work efforts will always be appreciated.
